Jianbing crepe
What is a Jianbing?

Jianbing is a beloved staple of Chinese street food. The history of the Jianbing traces back almost 2000 years to the Shandong Province in China.

Jianbing is a delicate, crispy crepe formed with corn, mung beans, rye and buckwheat. It is filled with many variations of flavours that are up to you.

How we serve Jianbing at RÉ TEA

Jianbing can be served in a variety of delicious ways.

To start off your day, or as a boost throughout your day, we serve a Breakfast Jianbing. This is filled to the brim with tempting sausages, sizzling bacon, your choice of filling and toppings. The Breakfast Jianbing is a wonderful amalgamation of the traditional Irish breakfast with historic Chinese street food.

The Jianbing also comes with many tempting, savoury options. These include your choice of a succulent slow-cooked pork belly, mouth-watering beef, rich roasted duck, crispy chicken fillet with a special spice, and a satisfying vegetarian option served with your choice of falafel or vegetarian duck. All these options offer simple pleasures to any meal.

White bun (Bao Bun)
What is a White bun (Bao Bun)?

White buns (Bao Buns) (also known as a ‘steamed buns’) are enchanting, fluffy, soft, and round buns that seized the world of street food as a convenient food that could be eaten as desired.

Much like the Jianbing, the White bun (Bao bun) is steeped in a rich origin story. Historical evidence suggests that the Bao bun can be traced back as far as 400BC in the Fujian province in China.

How do we serve Bao buns?

Bao buns are renowned for being delicately soft, fluffy, and extremely versatile as they can be stuffed to the brim with countless delicious fillings. The most popular fillings on offer from our kitchens include divine pork belly, rich roasted duck, mouth-watering beef, a special seasoned chicken fillet and an exciting vegan option. The vegan option is an incredibly popular ‘vegan duck’ that is crafted from traditional seitan. This is a protein-rich, amazing vegan option so that you don’t miss out on the amazing flavours we have to offer.

Bubble Tea RÉ TEA
Bubble Tea at RÉ TEA

Bubble tea has become increasingly popular in recent years. Although bubble tea has only just begun to gain traction in Ireland, it has been a cherished delicacy in places like China, Taiwan and Hong Kong since the 1980s!

Bubble tea gained its namesake because of the delightful boba and the ethereal floating bubbles that are created by the vigorous shaking involved in the blending of the tea.

What is Bubble Tea?

Bubble tea is an exceptionally unique looking drink, originating in Taiwan.

Bubble tea is made by blending a tea base with milk or fruit juices, which are then followed by the signature bubbles. The classic bubbles are pleasant little tapioca pearls (also known as ‘pearls’ or ‘boba’) that sit at the bottom of the cup, waiting to be slurped.

Bubble tea is a revitalising sweet treat that comes in many flavours. With such a wide array of teas and fruit flavours available, the possibilities are endless!

Here at RÉ TEA, we are mindful of the environmental impact of plastic packaging. Therefore, we serve our bubble tea in glass cups with a fat bamboo straw. We think it is exceedingly important to do our bit in saving the planet, one bubble tea at a time.
